Ground Broken on Multi-million Dollar 16th Century-style Vacation Property in Cedar City

32-unit vacation resort to immerse guests in Elizabethan culture

CEDAR CITY, Utah—March 3, 2006—The Thesis Group broke ground on March 3, 2006, on a multi-million dollar vacation resort in Cedar City. This project, the first of its kind in Southern Utah, will include 32 Elizabethan-style villas, an old England courtyard and an expansive clubhouse and meeting rooms.

Henley Manor has been painstakingly designed with architecture and décor that meet the most exacting standards for Elizabethan England.

"After more than a year of meticulous planning and development, we're excited to begin construction on this truly unique resort," said David Asay, general manager. "Our guests will enjoy a complete immersion experience rich in Elizabethan culture and the character of Old England."

The 32-unit resort will feature a combination of studio, one bedroom and two bedroom vacation villas. These spacious villas will be fully furnished and will include a full service kitchen, washer/dryer, whirlpool tub and individually decorated rooms with lavish décor right out of Elizabethan England.

The resort will be located in the heart of Cedar City just west of the campus of Southern Utah University and close to the site of the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Guests will be in the midst of some of the world's most scenic natural beauty, from Cedar Breaks and Zion Canyon to Brian Head ski resort. Because of the central location, guests will enjoy premier golf courses, a variety of cultural events and festivals and many other year-round attractions.

A variety of on-site amenities and activities will also be available including an Old England-style courtyard with meandering paths, quaint bridges, soothing ponds and an authentic waterwheel. Henley Manor plans to offer carriage tours through Cedar City and a full king's breakfast served every morning by scullery maids and attendants.

To keep the excitement brewing and infuse an Elizabethan flavor all year long, Henley Manor will offer guests special weekly on-site events and themed activities. Some of the special weeks planned include: Mystery Week, where guests participate in a mystery and can test their sleuthing abilities; Himmelsk Week, where stand-up comedy performances and evening seminars are devoted to the attitude of humor; and National Parks Week, where guests will enjoy learning about the history and geology of the parks from knowledgeable tour guides.
